At 7:03 p.m. on Friday, a 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Japan's Chiba Prefecture, sending seismic waves to Tokyo and other neighbouring cities, according to The Japan Times.
The tremor was found at a depth of 50 km off the eastern coast of Chiba, according to the Japanese meteorological office.
According to authorities, a tsunami warning was not issued.
