Why is more than half of the air in the packet of chips?

Almost all of us love chips. The packet looks like there are lots of chips in the packet. Then when I opened it, I found that half the packet was filled with air. It is necessary to satisfy the mind with that amount of chips. Many think manufacturers do this intentionally to make a profit. But if you know the real thing, you will also understand for what purpose it is usually done.

In fact, there is an excellent scientific explanation behind it. The excess air inside the packet of chips is called 'Slack Fill' (Slack FIll).

(1) A packet of chips has to travel a long way past the front door of the factory before it reaches you. There is no more packet. Instead, hundreds of packets are stacked on top of each other and packed into cartons. So if it wasn't for this 'disappointing' air then you wouldn't have to sit at home and eat whole chips. Rather, you eat chips! Because under such pressure all the chips would break.

(2) Even the air inside the packet is not normal air. Nitrogen is filled here. Oxygen spoils the chips, and the oil also smells bad. Also the moisture in the air dampens the chips. As a result, there will be no fun in eating those chips. Nitrogen, on the other hand, does not have these problems. Instead, it keeps the chips fresh and crunchy. This is how the air in the packet of chips has been frustrating us and protecting our favorite chips.

(3) Since chips contain fat and oil, they can become rancid. Now talk about what is actually rancid? Rancid hall, fat or oily foods become old and stale, causing an odor that destroys the original taste of the food. Rancidity is a biochemical reaction. Fats, after being oxidized, produce off-flavors and off-flavors, thereby rendering the food unpalatable. So to keep the chips taste right, the manufacturer fills the chips packets with nitrogen gas. Since, nitrogen gas does not react with fats and oils, the chips are safe from rancidity.
